Carrefour china case free essay sample

In 1995, Carrefour entered China, with its first store opening in Beijing. By June 2006 the organization was working 73 hypermarkets in 29 Chinese urban areas and it was the main outside retailer in China having the quickest developing rate among its rivals [1]. The organization intended to open 100 new stores in 2006-07 on the grounds that the opposition had as of late ventured up. As contenders attempt to take the greatest portion of pie, all brands of business sectors are compelled to show their distinction from the others so as to pull in possible clients. In this way, David Monaco, resource and development executive of Carrefour China, plans to open its first â€Å"Green Store† in Beijing before 2008 Olympic Games [1]. The Green Store was another idea which demonstrates utilization of naturally neighborly procedures during building and working the market. Setting up a green store won't just give supportability through waste decrease yet additionally decline expenses of the organization. Moreover, green store will be a decent method of ad for drawing in expected clients during Olympic Games. Monaco accepts that it will expand their deals by 30%. Notwithstanding, since green store is another idea for China, Monaco confronted with certain issues during effectuating the undertaking [1]. II. Issue DEFINITION Primary issue can be characterized as the absence of methodology for effectuating theâ green store venture. There is definitely not a specific assignment to follow steps and develop green store structures. Other than the fundamental issue there are some sub-issues which hinder the use of green store venture. These issues can be characterized as follows: People: Building a hypermarket is testing yet working a retail framework is considerably progressively troublesome. Chinese individuals don't deal with the hardware and this causes decrease of lifetime of gear and cause extra support cost for the organization. Choice of senior supervisors: Although a corporate rule set the general store structure, the head supervisors frequently utilize their own thoughts and innovative desire and this reason absence of standard among business sectors. As there are various principles among Carrefour markets, Monaco experience issues in setting up an errand for figuring out what is â€Å"green† truly mean to Carrefour Company. Besides, the interior rivalries among head supervisors make them to recuperate any extra expenses. Tragically, the store managers’ observations regularly don't coordinate reality, most things that are cut by speculation modifications are vital for activities. Wrong choices of chiefs cause extra activity costs. Since the impacts of these off-base choices can be seen in the drawn out chiefs frequently disregard the issue. Absence of global organizations: Especially during 1990’s this was a significant issue for Carrefour. As most worldwide organizations didn't enter China showcase Carrefour were experiencing issues about finding confided in providers and furthermore providers that give what Carrefour anticipates. Working with neighborhood, new providers causes postponed openings and raised expenses. Atmosphere of China/Frequent force deficiencies: The sweltering and moist summers and the cold and dry winters were wearing hard on the hardware. Likewise, visit power deficiencies cause visit hardware breakdowns and in this way less lifetime. III.CRITERIA A. Manageability Our basis is supportability, which implies ready to proceed over some stretch of time. We have root and arrangement issues so we have to discover manageable arrangements, which are superior to modest impermanent, in light of the fact that the reasonable ones gives setting aside cash and time in a long haul. B. Cost Effectiveness Our last and unavoidable basis is cost adequacy, which implies theâ price paid to get, produce, achieve or look after anything. We can discover a wide range of arrangements yet in the event that we have restricted money related sources or the arrangement is very costly than its riches, we can't actualize the arrangement. Likewise, the companies’ the primary point is benefit so the basis of cost adequacy is unavoidable in the business life. C. Promotion Chance Promoting chance is the crucial presentation measure for the organization in light of the fact that Olympic Games are so well known on the planet. A large number of individuals join the association and the prevalence of Carrefour must be raise. Along these lines, Carrefour endures the scales in the company’s favor. IV. System In the system part, in the light of the standards we will recommend proposed arrangement and their assessments. Right off the bat, the material answer for the firm is constrained 2 years until Olympic Games to expand its own esteem, so firm should discover pertinent and compelling arrangement in a restricted time. On the off chance that Carrefour finds the opportunity of applying green markets before its rivals, it will build its own glory. To be specific, Chinese government can perceive the firm as a green retailer. This discernment decidedly influences the notoriety of firm. Accordingly, the main applier of green markets and expanding government acknowledgment make a critical commitment to the notoriety of firm. As indicated by data given, Carrefour can open new green stores yet we have to consider cost and time impediments. Another arrangement is that Carrefour can change its present store as indicated by green system so it will be more sense capable arrangement. At last, Carrefour can't do anything besides it is the most pessimistic scenario for it since it won't get any notoriety. V. Examination OF THE PROBLEM The objective of the task can be characterized as completing the work of â€Å"Green Store† before 2008 Olympic Games. Monaco is in the acknowledgment that effectuating this undertaking before Olympic Games will be an opportunity of notice of the organization and furthermore it will build the deals by 30%. In any case, as referenced in issue definition part, there are a few obstructions to accomplish this objective legitimately. Dispensing with these issues and constructingâ green store includes the extent of the venture. The extent of the task can be characterized as follows: First of all the point of the undertaking is to open first Green Store in Beijing before 2008 Olympic games. In any case, the fundamental issue is that there is no standard for what infers green and supportable. The initial step that Monaco ought to consider is to figure out what green truly mean to the organization and the nation. There is no uncertainty that Monaco can't characterize â€Å"green† idea all alone. He should take some help from China government, organizations related with natural issues and manageability. Doing counsels with these bodies can prompted bargain on a standard comprehension of manageability. Being the organization that has chief job about manageability comprehension of the administration can give a few points of interest. For instance, the organization can the one stage away from its rivals and can be driving on-screen character in the market. That is the reason so as to characterize systems of building green store supportability comprehension ought to be all around characterized and afterward disguised. As a second step the organization ought to characterize its structure cutoff times with the end goal that the market can be opened previously/due Olympic Games. While building the market it is critical to think about the expenses. The expense of building ought to be limited without bargaining the quality and manageability. Whenever cost of building green store is higher than income that will be acquired then new other options or some setouts can be thought of. Monaco should direct statistical surveying and examine the inconveniences and focal points of the task. Besides, he should accept the open doors into account. As a third step accepting that the undertaking is effectuated promotion issues become significant. In the event that the organization effectuates the venture yet doesn't have notice channels, at that point it will be hard to draw in possible clients and increment the deals by 30%. Monaco ought to be in the acknowledgment that contenders will likewise attempt to pull in clients and increment their deals. That is the reason Carrefour should take the help of media and the legislature. Endeavors to demonstrate that Carrefour truly will in general be reasonable will most likely draw in the capable power and in this manner the help will be picked up. There are three elective answers for this case. Right off the bat they can open a green store in Beijing before the 2008 Olympic game and execute â€Å"green† rehearses all through all stores later on. Or on the other hand they can not open a green store and rather just actualize â€Å"green â€Å"parasitesâ throughout all stores (incorporates vitality utilization investment funds). In conclusion they don't practice environmental awareness; center around different issues, for example, Operational and property possession issues. Be that as it may, all options have positive and negative sides. For first elective positive sides are underneath: Operational expenses over the long haul will be less making Carrefour less defenseless to expanding vitality costs. This option has a solid positive effect on Brand picture because of consistence with the green policies.†Ã¢â‚¬ Green washing and media publicity won't be relevant any longer. Whenever worked before 2008 the Store will draw in more clients because of up and coming occasions. A decent begin to test green innovation for the first store and actualize it for the remainder of the stores. Negative sides: Green activity will â€Å"freeze† acquisitions of properties for at some point. The expense of being green may exceed the advantages for the time being. The way that the vehicle for mosly works with outside providers and imports green hardware will postpone the opening of the main green store. Save parts won't be accessible in an opportune way for legitimate upkeep and fixes. For the second elective positive sides are underneath: Carrefour won't be slammed of â€Å"Green washing†. They get a good deal on opening the green store which can be apportioned to actualize Green activities thought all others stores. They can concentrate on the green Strategy on all off Carrefour China and will r

Etiquette for Visiting Colleges - UGA Undergraduate Admissions

Etiquette for Visiting Colleges - UGA Undergraduate Admissions Etiquette for Visiting Colleges Like many parents in our community, my wife and I had our two children go to an after-school etiquette program during the fifth grade. We got past the actually moaning and groaning and had them ready to learn more about how to interact with others. I can still remember sending my now college senior son to his first day with a pre-tied necktie in his bookbag, only to have him come home with the tie pulled up tight against his neck above his actual shirt collar. Seriously, it was the strangest sight ever. I should have known then that he was destined for a more casual, less proper life just like me. While my kids only went through one year of this program, both of them did learn a few manners, my son understood how to actually tie a necktie, and hopefully some of the etiquette did sink in. In the same way that there are certain etiquette rules for social events, interacting with others and dining at restaurants, there are also certain steps you can take when visiting colleges. While many students might have already starting visiting colleges by now, a large number of you will be attending admission events during your senior year. This could involve campus tours, visitation days, open houses and the like. Here are a few suggestions on how to make sure the visits go well for everyone involved. Dont worry, this has nothing to do with table manners, how to bow, or how to drink tea properly. Make a reservation While you dont need to always schedule an official visit to a campus, things generally work out much better when you plan ahead. Sign up for the campus tours well ahead of time, especially if it is for a visit in March/April (key Spring Break times) or during the summer. Showing up unannounced can add stress, not only to your own party but to the admission offices. You dont want to visit a college only to be told the tour is full or the office is closed that day. If you are going out to a nice restaurant, you probably want to make a reservation ahead of time, right? Alert the college if there is a need to cancel If something comes up that causes you to not be able to attend a scheduled tour/event, let the admissions office know about it. Many times, space at these events are in high demand, so letting the college know of a change in plans can free up space for another student/family to visit. Many times, the emails sent confirming the visit also have instructions on how to chance/cancel a visit. If you make a reservation at a restaurant and then just dont show up, the front desk is going to waste a great deal of time calling out your name and holding a space for you unnecessarily. Hold questions which are not large audience-appropriate for later At any admissions event, we love questions. We truly enjoy talking to both students and parents, and you asking questions helps us direct the conversation towards meaningful discussions. But at times, there are questions that should be held onto until a time that is more one-on-one. One of the most awkward times my wife and I had at a restaurant was when the couple next to us starting loudly berating the waiter about the wine options (they even suggested one wine that should be on the list which we had seen in a gas station earlier that day). I think the entire restaurant heard this discussion, and it would have been much better if instead they had requested a quiet talk with the manager. In the same way, if you have an issue with how decisions are made or if you have somewhat personal questions, I suggest you talk with an admissions person on the side at a later time. It makes it much less awkward for everyone. Give feedback At the end of the day/event, admission offices generally send out surveys for visitors to complete. We are glad to hear back from you about the day, and your thoughts and ideas can help us in shaping future events, either by making changes or by keeping some things the same. UGA is not a college which bases our decisions on demonstrated interest, so feel free to give us your honest opinion on how things went on your visit. Responding to our surveys means that you cared enough to let us know how you feel. I hope these notes help, and Go Dawgs!

The Jaguar, by Ted Hughes Essay Example

The Jaguar, by Ted Hughes Paper The Jaguar, by Ted Hughes, Ted Hughes explains his admiration for the Jaguar in this poem. The poem is describing a zoo where most of the animals, except the jaguar and the parrots, are being lazy and boring. We can tell this from the way Hughes describes their movement and appearance. He shows his enthusiasm and passion for the jaguar by using many metaphors and hyperboles. Although he does not share the same like towards the parrots, he does go into great detail to describe their actions. He explains how they sell themselves like cheap tarts to the on looking audience and remarks on the way they shriek and walk. One of the most bold and eye-catching ways he shows his enthusiasm for the jaguar is going from the second verse to the third. As the jaguar comes into the poem, he immediately picks up the pace, leaving behind a slow, dull atmosphere created by the other animals. He does this by using descriptive words such as yawn, fatigued, and sleepers, to emphasize the slow pace in the first two verses. He moves on in the third verse using words like runs, and hurrying, and furious. This immediately and effectively shows his overwhelming admiration for the jaguar over the other animals. We will write a custom essay sample on The Jaguar, by Ted Hughes specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on The Jaguar, by Ted Hughes specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on The Jaguar, by Ted Hughes specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer From the first verse and then from the third on, the poet uses enjambment to carry on the feeling on between verses, for example, between the first and second; Fatigued with indolence, tiger and lion Lie still as the sun, This shows how he carries on the feeling without the use of any punctuation when going to the next verse. He does this to add to the feeling of tiredness and slow pace by making the line longer to read without punctuation. At the end of the second verse, the poet describes the majority of the animals as; Painted on a nursery wall. He is showing that these animals look so harmless and tame that they would just be like a simple kids toy and also the fact that their movement is either slow or they are not moving at all. He feels they are so harmless that they remind him of paintings. The pace of the poem is picked up when a crowd of people start to run over and flock beside the jaguars cage, where the jaguar is pacing about on a short fierce fuse, suggesting that the jaguar could explode any minute into a complete fit of rage. This is the poet using words to describe how the jaguar feels to have all of these people crowding round him, watching every move that he makes. But straight after, he then describes the jaguar as if it can not fully accept the fact it is in this cage and acts as if it is its actual habitat, or one day believes that it can escape the zoo and get back to its original place of living, but theres no cage to him. In the final verse, the poet begins to sum up and changes his tune towards the jaguar;more than a visionary to his cell, he is basically saying it does not care about who or what is around it; it is just looking to the future. He adds to his feelings for the jaguar by exaggerating somewhat how the crowds are just waiting to see what he will do next, the world rolls over the thrust of his heel. Here, the poet is using hyperbole to exaggerate his feelings towards the jaguar and make out as if the jaguar is the most important thing in the world at that time, when quite simply it is no where near. In this poem, the poet, Ted Hughes expresses his enthusiasm towards the subject by describing the jaguars superiority over the other animals in the zoo. All of this is extremely effective in aiding his description and highlighting the uniqueness of the jaguar to the rest. Overall this poem gave good decisive descriptions of movement and of setting and showed the poets likes and dislike towards animals clearly and understandably.

Henry Fairfield Osborn - A Profile of the Famous Paleontologist

Henry Fairfield Osborn - A Profile of the Famous Paleontologist Name: Henry Fairfield Osborn Born/Died: 1857-1935 Nationality: American Dinosaurs Named: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Pentaceratops, Ornitholestes, Velociraptor About Henry Fairfield Osborn Like many successful scientists, Henry Fairfield Osborn was fortunate in his mentor: the famous American paleontologist Edward Drinker Cope, who inspired Osborn to make some of the greatest fossil discoveries of the early 20th century. As part of the U.S. Geological Survey in Colorado and Wyoming, Osborn unearthed such famous dinosaurs as Pentaceratops and Ornitholestes, and (from his vantage point as president of the American Museum of Natural History in New York) was responsible for naming both Tyrannosaurus Rex (which had been discovered by museum employee Barnum Brown) and Velociraptor, which had discovered by another museum employee, Roy Chapman Andrews. In retrospect, Henry Fairfield Osborn had more of an impact on natural history museums than  he did on  paleontology; as one biographer says, he was a first-rate science administrator and a third-rate scientist. During his tenure at the American Museum of Natural History, Osborn spearheaded innovative visual displays designed to attract the general public (witness the dozens of habitat dioramas featuring realistic-looking prehistoric animals, which can still be seen in the museum today), and thanks to his efforts the AMNH remains the premier dinosaur destination in the world. At the time, however, many museum scientists were unhappy with Osborns efforts, believing that money spent on displays could be better spent on continuing research. Away from his fossil expeditions and his museum, unfortunately, Osborn had a darker side. Like many affluent, educated, white  Americans of the early 20th century, he was a firm believer in eugenics (the use of selective breeding to weed out less desirable races), to the extent that he imposed his prejudices on some museum galleries, misleading an entire generation of children (for example, Osborn refused to believe that the distant ancestors of humans resembled apes more than they did Homo sapiens).  Perhaps  more oddly, Osborn never quite came to terms with the theory of evolution, preferring the semi-mystical doctrine of orthogenetics (the belief that life is driven to increasing complexity by a mysterious force, and not the mechanisms of genetic mutation and natural selection).

A volatile business environment means that the management of business organizations must comprehend that primary means of gaining competitive advantage have changed. The business world has seen various companies collapse in the economic recession that is slowly being managed. Companies hit by the recession range from world leading insurance, manufacturing, an d processing companies. National governments across the world had to salvage some the companies to save them from imminent collapse. The environment saw other companies close their operations in some parts of the world to minimise expenditure. The economic downturn did not spare national economies with Greece’s economically crumbling. The European Union is struggling to help the country resuscitate its economy. Italy is also struggling. Human resource planning must be used to develop new strategies that will help the company remain competitive in the market. Human resource planning helps the company to consider issues that enable gaining of competitive advantage. The management of companies should recognize that usual sources of success are still reliable but human resource planning enhances sustainability of success. Usual mechanisms that lead to success include economies of scale, production technology that covers both process and product, and protected markets. The input b y success factors offers competitive advantage. Human resources appear at the top of the ladder in the management hierarchy of organizations. This illustrates their importance in the running of business companies. Human resources management conducts job analysis processes before recruiting qualified employees with appropriate skills for specific jobs. It also enhances commitment of employees and makes sure that the company retains the best by taking care of their welfare (Lado 1994, 31). When the human resource department does this, it motivates employees because it takes care of the needs of the workforce. A business organization enjoys a competitive advantage by creating value for its clients. The organization must focus on product and service differentiation. It is important that the company give services and products that are unique. To do this, human resources must single out different markets and treat them as individuals. The concentration should be on particular market segme nts or groups and make sure that the products and services they receive are effective and more efficient than those provided by competitors are in the same market (Wright 2007, 56). Male Versus Female

The battle of the sexes has been going on since the beginning of mankind. Women were once stereotyped as mere housewives, and the men were labeled as breadwinners. Over time, the title given to the so-called weaker sex has evolved up to par with that of men. Now, they almost stand on equal footing as them. When it comes to leadership though, I believe that females outshine their male counterparts in almost every measure. According to Rochelle Sharpe (2003), it has been approximately twenty-five years since women have started pouring into the labor force and have been trying to be more like men in every way. They now wear power suits and go out on golf luncheons with board executives, but despite them doing all the copying, new research is beginning suggest that men ought to be the ones doing more of the imitating. As discovered in an in-depth performance evaluation conducted on the year 2002 by Hagberg Consulting Group in Foster City, California – out of the four hundred twenty-five high-level executives that were evaluated, the women executives got higher ratings on fourty-two of the fifty-two skills measured. Despite all of this growing progress for females everywhere, it is still obvious that men have continued to dominate a majority of the business world. According to the Labor Department, as of the year 2004, only two of the nations five hundred biggest companies have female CEO’s and of the one thousand largest corporations, only six were being run by women. The reason for this male dominance is simply because women are not given an equal stand as men when it comes to job opportunities. Some businesses view women only as workhorses, or in a sense that they are well suited for demanding careers in middle management, but not for prime jobs. As a result of this, most women get stuck in jobs that involve human resources or public relations – posts that rarely lead to the top. (Sharpe, 2003) Both men and women have different styles of leadership, and the actual difference lies between how much listening is done. When it comes to women, they are naturally more open about sharing information and take the time to communicate with people and to hear what their inputs are. It is through this that they are able to gather more information that they can effectively analyze then implement into a plan that uses the best of the ideas presented. On the other hand, men do not take time to stop and smell the flowers – instead, they have the tendency to go straight to their point of view and present it in a ‘as a matter of fact’ manner. This way, they save time and have everyone agreeing to their plan of action. Well this is because men are not as flexible or willing to interact with others. (Grenberg, 2004) As a result, male leaders may actually tend to force their perspective and use their position influence others. Despite this being the quicker way of getting things done in a non-sloppy manner, it ironically does not make it as efficient as the way the opposite sex works. The manner that females work is by most of the time, simply listening. They take the initiative to gather ideas, research, and so forth from the people they are working with. They do not force their ideas on them, but rather, improve them with teamwork. It is because of this that they are able to produce better outputs and are more effective leaders than males. From the very start, women have often been associated with being a mother figure; therefore, even female leaders tend to be seen more as caring mothers rather than strong-willed heads. In relation to this, there are companies who assume that people skills are not business skills, which basically undermines their strengths. (Fletcher, 2002). Men though, are then associated with being the breadwinners of the family – a person who knows how to lead. Male leaders are seen as powerful members of society who have a good head on their shoulders and are tough enough to handle anything that comes their way. The notion that women are not as tough, is only something that is assumed. Although the majority may not be as physically strong as their counterpart, they are on the same level in terms of intellect. Women are associated with mothers, which means that they know how to take care of those working for them. Because they know how to deal with the most energetic of children, they can put their motherly instincts into motivating people – they are gifted with inborn people skills. According to the book Disappearing Acts: Gender, Power and Relational Practice at Work, written by Joyce Fletcher in 2002, employees that feel cared about by their bosses or are inspired by them, often produce higher-quality work; and supervisors who know how to deal with conflicts get better results. The conclusion can only be that by taking care of their employees, they are not only taking charge of them subtly but producing greater output in the process. In the present, the number of women that posses high-ranking positions may only add up to a mere fraction of the male population in the same position but it does not prove that the latter is more competent but rather that the former is being viewed as incompetent. The never-ending bias against female leaders has been going on forever, but they have been fighting back little by little. Women have come a long way from being a gender with no equality with the other sex, a gender that had no rights to vote, and a gender that had been stereotyped as a housewife. They have fought hard all these decades, and still continue to fight for the equality that they deserve. But despite the evident inequality, I still believe that female leaders outshine their male counterparts in almost every measure.

Classical Culture Does The Character Of Achilles Change Essay

The life and character of Achilles, the greatest warrior, is significantly changed as a result of the things he say (he is a man who means his words and can go to the extremes so as to achieve his mission), the things he does, and the choices he make (the choice of fate of death over shame). His character changes significantly all through the poem due to the sufferings that he goes through including the loss of his greatest friend Patroklos. His decisions, actions and omissions dictate the destiny of other warriors. This is brought out clearly right from his quarrel with Agamemnon all through to the death of Patroklos and Hektor. Achilles fight with Agamemnon sets off his anger. A plague is put by Apollo   on the Achaean soldiers who was killing them off and the only way to stop this is to give back the priest’s daughter who was captured.   Since Achilles girl is to be given in return of the captured priest’s daughter, Achilles honor could be disgraced. So, he pulls out of the war after releasing the priest’s daughter. Much of his anger is a direct result of this. However, his greatest anger is seen after the death of his best friend Patroklos The greatest thing that has shaped the character of Achilles is the death of his greatest friend Patroklos. As a result of this greatest loss, he feels so much lonely and sad.   This propels his desire to avenge. His anger is then switched from King Agamemnon to the killer of his friend, Hektor. This anger makes him kill Hektor. The slaughtering of Hektor, hanging him by his ankles and dragging him around the burial site of Patroklos reveals the extent of anger and how bitter Achilles is. Failing to give the body of Hektor to his father, Priam, for proper burial, is completely horrible and indicates how inhumane he was. Deciding that Hektor’s body is to be eaten by the dogs shows Achilles anger and brutal nature. However, this never came to be as Hektor’s body   was protected by gods. Paradoxically, when Priam comes for the body of his son Hektor, he is welcomed by Achilles like a friend. Cease-fire is called so as to give Hektor proper burial. The Achilles depicted here is kind and caring, a complete contrast of the expectation. His thirst for vengeance is completely lost and he accepts to mourn with Priam. This brings out some maturity in him, as compared to the previous nasty dejected Achilles who does not have even a single sense of reasoning. The principles of Achilles are far much beyond any reasonable doubt all through the poem. He is portrayed as a ‘no nonsense’ man. We can see this in his argument with Agamemnon. He is brought out as a man who stands his ground, and whose principles are far much beyond the desire for fame. However, when Achilles allows Patroklos to go into war and refuses to join him, he compromises his morality. It is clear here that he is compromising his loyalty and love for his friend with idiotic pride. The choice he makes finally is a real hero’s decision – the choice of fate of death over shame. The final Achilles is wiser than initially. This is perhaps due to the lessons he has learned lessons that only death can teach. In conclusion, Achilles is seen as a horrible and a harsh person who can kill brutally and desecrate a dead body. However, Achilles character changes ironically into a kind and caring person and shows a sign of maturity as he mourns with Priam. Achilles character is also seen to change when he compromised on his principles and allowed Patroklos and his men to go on war without his company. He does this to achieve his foolish pride.   Another instance where we see a change in Achilles character is when he decides to surrender the priest’s daughter and instead of giving up his girl, he quits the war. This is however not expected from a bold, great warrior like Achilles. A change in Achilles character is also seen when he switches the target of his wrath from King Agamemnon to Hektor, who killed his dear friend Patroklos. With all these changes in character of Achilles we cannot say that he is a static character. He is completely different at the end of the poem from the way he was at the beginning. Death has made him learn a lot of lessons and he looks wiser at the end of the poem than at the beginning. He has learnt to change his stand when conditions dictate him to do so.

As soon as the tea was shipped out they were sold at a slow rate. †American colonies undercut the business of colonial merchant. Prior to the Tea Act, colonial merchants purchased tea directly from British markets or smuggled from illegal markets. They then shipped it back to the colonies for resale. Outraged that American merchants were undercut, colonists initially in Philadelphia and New York refused the British East India Company tea to be offloaded and sent the ships back to England.† Parliaments Power Great britain put in place a Quartering act that was supposed to help soldiers rest. It was so whoever or whatever soldier can get the necessities they needed like a easy privilege. This â€Å"required colonial authorities to provide food, drink, quarters, fuel, and transportation to British forces stationed in their towns or villages. Resentment over this practice is reflected in the Third Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.† Many American colonist believed that this was a violation of the 1689 Bill of Rights. So the colonist retaliated until the â€Å"Quartering act† discontinued. Sons of Liberty The Sons of Liberty was a secret organization that was created in the Thirteen American Colonies to advance the rights of the European colonists and to fight taxation by the British government. The members of this group were Samuel Adams, Joseph Warren, Paul Revere, Benedict Arnold, Benjamin Edes, John Hancock, Patrick Henry, John Lamb, William Mackay, Alexander McDougall, James Otis, Benjamin Rush, Isaac Sears, Haym Solomon, James Swan, Charles Thomson, Thomas Young, Marinus Willett, and Oliver Wolcott. Further on the main leader was Samuel Adams, he called all the shots and was in charge of everything this rebelling group had done. Members were made of maem from all walks of colonial society but was notorious in recruiting tavern mongers, wharf rats, and other seedy characters looking to cause trouble. There were many followers that were conjoined in New York also to help with plans. The Boston part of the group (main part) had their meetings under the â€Å"liberty tree†. Their motto was, â€Å"No taxation without representation.†As the British Parliament began to put in place other laws and consequences into the colonies, the Sons of Liberty began react. Through the use of mob rule, tactics of fear, force, intimidation, and violence such as tar and feathering, and the stockpiling of arms, shot, and gunpowder, the Sons of Liberty effectively undermined British rule, paving the way to Americas independence. Spark of the revolution As pressure in the bostian colonies began to increase the likelihood of revolution, stories and tales were told all over the 13 colonies also throughout New England. The sons of liberty influenced an effective resistance against the British rule in American colonies on the peak of revolution. Mainly towards the unfair taxation upon them. The Sons of Liberty as an organization disbanded at the close of the American Revolution and as a political entity was replaced early in the Revolution by the more formal and qualified Committees of Safety. On December 16, 1773 members of the sons of Liberty dressed up as Mohawk Indians and dumped crates of British tea into the Boston harbor as a final protest to get revenge on British parliament for â€Å"abusing their power†. the colonists had their reasons. Tea was a favorite drink among the British and the colonies. It also was a major source of income to the East India Trading company. Since the colonies were told they could only buy tea from this one company. They were also told they had to pay high taxes on the tea. The tea was the main prize for British to get their money and value back. So when the colonist destroyed it, it sparked a panic where Britain had to find a new way to make money. Parliaments response In response to the dumping of the tea the British parliament shit down the Boston harboruntil the all the chest of British East India tea was paid for. This was under the British port act . In addition to the Boston Port Act, the Intolerable Acts also implemented the Massachusetts Government Act, the Administration of Justice Act, the Quartering Act. Colonists protested and coordinated resistance by convening the First Continental Congress in September and October of 1774 to petition Britain to repeal the Intolerable Acts. Revolution The Boston Tea Party was the key-event for the Revolutionary War. With this act, the colonists started the violent part of the revolution. It was the first try of the colonists, to rebel with violence against their own government. The following events were created by the snowball effect. There, all the colonists realized the first time, which they were treated wrong by the British government. It was an important step towards the independence dream, which was resting in the head of each colonist. They all flew from their mother country to start a new life in a new world, but the British government didnt give them the possibility by controlling them. In the acts of the failed missions of the colonist , other colonist sent foot and other goods to help those in Boston. This created a militia , to protect themselves from the British army. Conclusion The Boston tea party was the main event that pushed Americans independence to what it is today. There was many other topics and events that helped colonist stand up for what they believe in. From non-violent protest to violet protest it was an act to be there own people. They didn’t want to be controlled by people who took their independence. As of this day we all can say if American colonist never protested there would be no America. It shaped America to how it is today. From the Declaration of Independence and the signing of the amendments. Colonist fought for what was theirs.
